Muay Thai Kickboxing
Muay Thai Kickboxing is the most exciting and popular new trend in fitness
training.
Regular Thai Kickboxing work-outs will not only make you fitter and stronger,
but will also teach you elements of self-defence. Jogging twice a week is not
going to help you as you square up to a would-be mugger or rapist, but the
techniques you gain from Muay Thai kickboxing training just might.
Fight Rite is a fully equipped gym that caters for anyone who wants to learn
Muay Thai. Whether you want to get in shape and have fun while you are doing it,
or take the discipline more seriously and compete as an amateur or professional,
Fight Rite is the ideal fight gym.
The Muay Thai classes vary in intensity and skill level.
BEGINNER classes start with a warm up of stretching and skipping and progress
into learning & practising techniques (punches, kicks, knees & elbows) in the
air & on pads. Classes also involve students working with a partner on the bags
or with mitts, using punching and kicking combinations.
No Sparring occurs in Beginner classes.
THAI ALL levels classes are suited for anyone & are run at the pace & skill
level of the newest member in the class at the time.
No Sparring occurs in Thai All Levels classes.
THAI INT or THAI ADV (Intermediate or Advanced) classes are more advanced &
involve high intensity pad and bag work and light contact sparring drills.
Sparring does occur in these classes & all Sparring gear is required (sparring
gloves, shin/innstep protectors, mouthguards, groin guards).
MMA (Mixed Martial Arts)
I have over the years concentrated on Stand-up fighting, so with that in mind I
have decided to start teaching Mixed Martial Arts, concentrating on my strength
of stand-up fighting and ground & pound.
I have been training in Martial arts for over 30 years & have trained with some
great grapplers, Habby Heske, Rod Stroud, Bob Jones & Eric Paulson (former UFC
champ).
I recently attended an MMA seminar in Melbourne with some students of Randy
Couture (legendary UFC fighter), what they convinced me of was, to stay with my
strength s.
After training in Stand-up fighting for 30 years I am not going to train MMA to
fight on the ground.
So my MMA will concentrate on Striking while standing and Ground & Pound!
I look forward to sharing some of these skills that I have picked up over the
years with you!
To further improve my own skills & the skills of my students I now have a BJJ
instructor teach the MMA class on Thursday night & a Judo instructor teaches the
class on Saturday.
Boxing
Whether you are interested in fighting or not (99% of our boxing students just
train for fitness), our Boxing classes are for you.
In our society we use our hands for everything, from eating to wiping your
bottom. It makes sense to learn to use your hands to fight as it is more natural
to throw a punch than a kick.
You will be taught your basics; stance, punches, defence, offence, how to use
bags, pads, speedballs, floor ceiling balls & when you are ready, how to sparr!
Many boxing gyms are only interested in Fighter s , here at Fight Rite we are
about teaching you to Fight Rite.
Whether you want to fight or not!
Every member on the floor is IMPORTANT to us.
Zen Do Kai, Bob Jones Martial Arts
Zen Do Kai is a Martial Art System which has developed over the past three
decades.
It has developed from adding the principles and techniques of many martial arts
disciplines together with the strong Bob Jones fighting tradition to form a
modern, effective and comprehensive self defence system.
With schools across the whole of Australia & New Zealand, it is by far the
largest Martial Arts organisation in Australasia, boasting nearly 1000 classes

BJC - Kali Escrima
The Phillipino art of stick & knife fighting.
The most common weapons used now days are, in my opinion, sticks & knives.
10 years ago I achieved my instructor rank in this art & have all ways taught it
as a part of my Zen Do Kai class, now I teach it in its own right.
Kidz Muay Thai Kickboxing
Kidz Thai is for 6-12 year olds and is designed to provide Muay Thai Kickboxing
training & to teach self defence skills. Our desire is to promote a healthy
attitude towards sport & towards themselves.
This training helps develop basic motor skills, group socialisation,
co-operation with others & basic discipline.
We also have fun!
Kidz Karate
Kidz Karate for 6-12 year olds and is designed to provide Zen Do Kai, Bob Jones
Martial Arts training & to teach self defence skills. Our desire is to promote a
healthy attitude towards sport & towards themselves.
This training helps develop basic motor skills, group socialisation,
co-operation with others & basic discipline.
